Plea against election of Nawaz as PML-N chief fixed for hearing

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has fixed for hearing a petition filed against the election of ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif as the PML-N president, and issued notices to the parties concerned.

Justice Amir Farooq on Tuesday took up for hearing the petition filed by Makhdoom Niaz advocate and Ibrar Raza advocate.

The court has, while summoning the attorney general for assistance in the case, ordered for issuing notices to former PM Nawaz Sharif, law secretary, establishment division, chief election commissioner and secretary election commissioner.

The hearing of the case was adjourned for an indefinite period. The petitioners have challenged the election act bill through their petition.
