PFA fines, seals two fast-food joints along motorway, one Chinese restaurant in Lahore

LAHORE: During the continuing raids by the Punjab Food Authority (PFA), the authority sealed and fined two fast food joints along the motorway and a Chinese restaurant in Lahore on Sunday.

PFA officials team led by Noorul Amin Mengal conducted a raid on the Sukheki rest area along the Lahore-Islamabad motorway and sealed two fast food joints.

As per the PFA reports, soft drinks at the two fast food joints were expired in addition to the cooking oil being low grade. The PFA also stated that the restaurants had poor hygiene standards. The PFA fined the management of both restaurants Rs50, 000 for violating the PFA standards.

Meanwhile, a Chinese restaurant on MM Alam Road was found to be in violation of health standards when the PFA discovered expired and stale food items being used in the kitchen.

Subsequently, the restaurant operations were sealed and the restaurant fined Rs 50, 000.
