LAHORE: A high-level delegation of World Heritage Committee of the UNESCO called on Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, here today. The delegation was led by UNESCO’s Country Director Vibeke Jensen who appreciated the good work done for the protection heritage in Punjab and especially in Lahore under the leadership of Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Talking to the delegation, the chief minister said that Lahore is a historical city with multi-faceted cultural dimensions and history and culture of this great city are filled with numerous beautiful colours that have enchanted the people since long. He said that the Punjab government is giving special attention to the protection and conservation of historical places as it is our duty to keep the places of heritage safe for the coming generations. We don’t need resources, rather we require expertise and professional competence of the brotherly countries included in the World Heritage Committee of the UNESCO.
