After a recent wave of deadly attacks on Afghan security forces, President Ashraf Ghani has said that terrorist groups have no other option but to surrender or face elimination, according to Khaama Press.

“The criminal groups linked to outsiders, in the latest terrorist wave of attacks, targeted various parts of the country. After committing crimes and acts of savagery against humanity in Ghazni and Paktia, the terrorists once again martyred some Afghans and security personnel in Maiwand district of Kandahar,” the presidential palace quoted Ghani as saying in a statement.

The statement came a day after Taliban insurgents killed at least 74 people – mostly security personnel – in a wave of suicide attacks targeting police compounds and government facilities in the south, east and west of the country.

The groups that have been involved in crimes, terrorism, and murders are currently on the verge of destruction and elimination, Ghani said in the statement.

President Ghani said the national unity government and Afghan people stand by their security forces and will use all their force to fight the terrorist groups. “The terror groups are being wiped out from the communities and are currently having no other option but to surrender or face elimination.”

He said the Afghan security forces continue to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country with their blood. “Their sacrifices will be written in golden words in the annals of the history,” he added.
