ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Thursday, while stressing inter-religion and inter-faith harmony, said that the government is committed to promote a society free from any discrimination based on caste or creed.
In his message to the Hindu community on the eve of Diwali festival, the PM said no religion promoted hatred and violence as each one stood for promoting peace, harmony and love for humanity.
The PM called upon the religious leaders to play their role in highlighting the core religious values so as to bind the society into a single bond of humanity. He also urged upon the Hindu community to continue making their valuable contributions for the prosperity of Pakistan.
He also extended his heartiest greetings to the Hindu community across the country and abroad on the occasion of Diwali. Abbasi said that, “I sincerely wish that the festival of lights may bring happiness and peace in the lives of all those who are celebrating this day.”
Abbasi further said that the government was committed to the welfare of minorities and was taking steps to safeguard their fundamental rights. “In this effort, we are guided by the golden principles practiced by our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the vision of Muhammad Ali Jinnah and our constitution,” he added.
ABBASI’S MESSAGE ABOUT HINDU COMMUNITY IN PAK IS A REFRESHING DEVIATION FROM THE PAST AND WOULD BE GOOD FOR THE REGION TOO. PAKISTAN SHOULD ADOPT SECULARISM AS INTENDED BY IT’S FOUNDER THE QUADE-AAZAM MOHAMMED ALI JINNAH. EVEN OTHERWISE RELIGION IS A VERY SERIOUS HURDLE IN GOVERNANCE
