LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, after taking strict notice of the non-admission and failure in treatment of a pregnant woman in Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Raiwind, has directed for the suspension of MS Dr Amir Mufti and Consultant Gynecologist Dr Asma Sarwar.
The two have been suspended and removed from their post. Meanwhile, LHV Sumaira Ramazan has been dismissed from service as well. Departmental action will also be initiated against the suspended MS and gynecologist under the PEEDA Act. The chief minister has said that cruelty has been committed by non-provision of treatment to a hapless expecting woman and added that responsible persons will have to be answerable for their negligence of duties.
