Two car thieves, drug smuggler arrested in federal capital

ISLAMABAD: The Industrial Area Zone police on Wednesday arrested three persons, including two car thieves and a female drug pusher, and recovered three stolen vehicles, a motorcycle and 8.250 kilogrammes of hashish from the possession of the nabbed persons.

According to details, a team of Sabzi Mandi Police Station, headed by Station House Officer (SHO) Muhammad Arshad, and comprising of sub-inspector (SI) Abdul Sattar and assistant sub-inspector Adeel Shaukat, arrested two car lifters and impounded three cars and a motorcycle. One of the accused was later identified as Arsalan Bhatti.

In another operation, the patrolling team of Noon Police Station, comprising of SHO Abid Ikram, SI Muhammad Mumtaz and others, stopped a suspicious woman for checking at motorway bus stop. While searching the baggage carried by the woman, identified as Niaz Perveen, 8 kilogrammes of hashish were recovered by the police. In addition, another accused Azad Khan was also held for possession of 250 grams of hashish.
