Those responsible for the Abbottabad raid will be held accountable, PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif said on Friday. Addressing a workers’ convention in Gujrat, Nawaz said Pakistanis would not ask for charity and endanger their self-respect, adding that no one would be allowed to disgrace Pakistan’s honour.
According to a private TV channel, he demanded an independent commission on the Abbottabad incident, saying that truth had to be made public so that such incidents could not be repeated. “Investigation through an independent commission will let the world know that Pakistan is a sovereign nation and its sovereignty cannot be challenged,” Nawaz said, adding that any hurdle created by the government would be defended in this regard.
