LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Tuesday that the nation has come to recognise all those politicians who habitually make “u-turns” in their stances, adding that politics based on lies and baseless allegations have neither succeeded in the past nor would ever succeed in the future.
He was speaking to a gathering of Members of National Assembly (MNAs) from different districts of the province who were visiting the chief minister.
The chief minister remarked that if “sit-in groups” could be more reasonable, the different power projects launched by the government would have been completed by now.
He remarked that people who tried to create hurdles in the way of progress and prosperity of the country always came to failure in the political arena.
He advised the “sit-in” and “lockdown” groups to change their negative attitudes, adding that meaningful change in the country could only come through practical steps and not through hollow slogans and speeches at rallies.
The chief minister said that the public could no longer be deceived by hollow slogans. It would elect PLM-N again in the next general elections due to the party’s transparent and honest performance, he concluded.
