The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) would start issuing Rs. 20 Commemorative Coin through the exchange counters of all the field offices of SBP Banking Services Corporation from May 21st.
According to a press release issued here on Thursday, this is in line with the Federal Government’s decision to issue the coin to commemorate the 60th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China as well as to celebrate the “2011 Year of Pak China Friendship”.
The government will issue 100,000 commemorative coins of Rs20 on Saturday on the 150 year celebrations of Lawrence College, Ghora Gali, Murree.The coin will be available for public at all field offices of State Bank of Pakistan from May 28, 2011. The existing Rs20 banknotes will continue to be legal tender and will remain in circulation along with Rs20 coins.
