Corps Commander Lieutenant General Muhammad Zahir Ul Islam lauded the performance of troops in the exercises marking the culmination of summer collective training in the Retti-Rahim Yar Khan desert on Wednesday, according to an ISPR press release.
The corps commander visited different formations employed both in offensive and defensive mode.
The exercises tested the proficiency of armoured, mechanised elements and infantry including all arms and services in sustained day and night combined arms operations.
Besides the tactical lessons, the purpose was also to judge physical and mental endurance of participating troops and equipment in hot climatic conditions of the desert terrain.
Earlier on arrival in the exercise area, the commanding general officer of both the formations briefed the corps commander about the progress of training and the aims and objectives of the respective capstone exercises.
