Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated the 100-bed Government Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Manawan on Friday and inspected the hospital as well as the filter clinic afterwards. Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the Chief Minister said that state-of-the-art hospital has been established by the Punjab government at Manawan through public-private partnership.
The CM went to different wards and checked the quality of medical faciltiies being provided to the patients. He checked the emergency wards meant for children, women and male patients and put up questions to the patients and their family members about the quality of healthcare facilities available in the hospital. They affirmed that best treatment facilities are offered and medicines are also available free of cost while the doctors and paramedical staff are also available round the clock. They thanked the Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif for building such a wonderful hospital and said that best treatment facilities are now accessible to the people of the area.
He said that the Punjab government has ensured provision of quality medicines in the public sector hospitals and the medicines being provided in the government hospitals are better than the medicines given in the private hospitals today.
The hospital is being managed by the Indus Health Network led by a Dr Abdul Bari who is working as the CEO. This trust is also running Government Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital in Muzaffargarh.
He said that the elements criticising the public welfare initiatives are not well-wishers of the people. Some used to level baseless allegations that no work is being done in the healthcare sector in Punjab as we are fond of constructing metro and roads, he said. You levelled baseless allegations and we have replied back by constructing such a wonderful hospital, he added.
Talking about the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and criticising the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the province, he said that you have failed to improve the healthcare in your own province and have also not succeeded in launching the metro service. He also said that Imran Khan failed to acknowledge the assistance that the Punjab government provided to KPK to deal with the dengue epidemic.
The CEO of the Indus Health Network De Abdul Bari, in his address, said that the foundation of a third hospital has been laid between Punjab government and the Indus Hospital. We shall come up to the expectations of the CM Shehbaz Sharif, he said. Shehbaz Sharif is a good administrator who works really hard, he added. Provincial Ministers Salman Rafique and Imran Nazir also addressed the function.
