PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Pervez Khattak on Tuesday urged politicians to take a united stand for the integration of the voiceless tribesmen of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) in to the province.
The CM gave this statement while addressing the participants of a tribal jirga and national conference organised by Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam-Sami-ul-Haq (JUI-S).
Per details, the federal government had no objection to the integration of FATA to KP. It is important to mention here that the federal government would be liable to pay Rs 100 billion package to the tribal areas after its merger with KP.
On the occasion, the CM announced that the provincial government endorsed the five items agenda of the all parties conference (APC) of FATA organised by the Awami National Party (ANP) in Islamabad. Under the announcements of the APC, it was demanded from the federal government to announce the constitutional and administrative integration of FATA into KP, replacement of Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR) with judicial system, giving representation to the FATA in KP assembly, protection of their legal rights and ten years package to KP for the development of FATA after its integration.
The participants at the conference included, JUI-S ameer Maulana Sami-ul-Haq, ANP Secretary General Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Senator Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, Jamaat-e-Islami’s Shah Jee Gul, members of national assembly (MNA) from the tribal areas, former-MNA from Bajaur Agency Haroon-ur- Rasheed, Muttahida Qabaili Party leader Habib Noor Orakzai, Haji Abdur Rehmand Mohmand, Malik Azmat Khan and other leaders.
