ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Secretary Aftab Bajwa on Wednesday criticised the manner in which Finance Minister Ishaq Dar was indicted, saying the decision was taken by the accountability court in ‘indecent haste’.

Bajwa said that the judge of the accountability court did not fulfill the legal requirements and the charges were framed in haste. He apprehended that the indictment in haste would go in favour of the accused.

He added that legally an accused was indicted seven days after handing over the copy of the reference to him. He alleged that attempts were being made to benefit Dar technically through indicting him in haste.

It is to be mentioned here that Accountability Court-I Islamabad indicted Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in the National Accountability Bureau’s reference filed for allegedly possessing assets beyond his known sources of income.
