Sindh govt aims at wider media coverage

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Information Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has urged the public relations officers (PROs) to counter the negative impacts of the governmental activities by promoting government’s positive acts through print and electronic media effectively.

While presiding over a meeting to review the progress and performance of the PROs on Friday, he said: “Important responsibilities are on the shoulders of the PROs as they can project and highlight the activities and achievements of their respective departments. “If any negative news report appears in print and electronic media, it should be taken seriously.”

He said that the governmental activities, initiatives, development projects and positive measures taken for the welfare of the common men should be highlighted in both print and electronic media through liaison and building up relations with media on a daily basis to achieve the desired results.

Shah directed the electronic media to evolve a proper mechanism so that maximum activities can be highlighted properly. The minister directed Secretary Information Imran Atta Soomro to resolve the field issues of the PROs.
