ISLAMABAD: A three-member bench of the Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday adjourned the disqualification case against Awami Muslim League (AML) leader Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed for two weeks.

The SC bench, headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, heard the case on the petition of former member National Assembly and local Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Malik Shakeel Awan. The court accepted the request of Rasheed’s lawyer to adjourn the hearing.

Shakeel Awan in his petition has maintained that the Awami Muslim League leader did not declare his complete financial assets in his nomination papers to the Election Commission of Pakistan.

ECP had earlier rejected Shakil Awan’s petition on disqualifying Rasheed. Awan then submitted an appeal against the ECP’s rejection in the Supreme Court.
