LAHORE: The patchwork of roads will be completed and hanging electricity cables would be removed before Ashura-e-Muharram, Punjab Cooperatives Minister Muhammad Iqbal Channer said on Saturday.
He said both of these steps were essential to ensure security during 9 and 10 Muharram and other important days.
He said directions had also been issued to departments concerned to launch an extensive cleanliness campaign in the province, adding that cleanliness arrangements were an important part of security arrangements.
“Negligence in this regard will not be tolerated and the responsible persons will have to face strict disciplinary action”, he said.
He said that duties had also been assigned to officials for checking of cleanliness in this regard.
