Bill extending jurisdiction of SC, IHC to FATA introduced in NA

ISLAMABAD: A bill has been introduced in the National Assembly (NA) to extend the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court (SC) and Islamabad High Court (IHC) to tribal areas in FATA. The bill was moved in the House on Friday by Law Minister Zahid Hamid

According to details, the federal cabinet had cleared the bill for introduction in the Parliament during its meeting on Tuesday.

The government also informed the House on Friday that it had taken a number of steps to achieve the objectives for ‘Climate Change’ during the last five years.

Responding to a question during the ‘Question Hour’, Parliamentary Secretary for Cabinet Secretariat Raja Muhammad Javed Ikhlas informed the House that the government had ratified the ‘Paris Agreement on Climate Change’ in November last year.

He said that under the prime minister’s ‘Green Pakistan Programme’, Rs3.65 billion had been allocated for revival the of forestry and conservation of biodiversity.  He added that more than one billion rupees had also been allocated for wildlife conservation.

He further informed that the ‘National Forest Policy’ has also been approved by the Council of Common Interests.
