Police plans to kill 58 criminals in ‘encounter’

LAHORE: Police has devised a plan to kill 58 dangerous criminals, involved in terrorist and other activities, in encounter.

The plan to execute 58 criminals belonging to various banned outfits which have operated in Lahore and its surrounding areas, has been finalised. According to sources, law enforcement agencies have sought help of CTD, executive police officials and other secret organisations and provided them a list of such criminals.

Sources have said that to escape arrests, these criminals have gone to Afghanistan, Dera Ismail Khan, Swat, Mangora, Gilgit and other areas. Police from Lahore and other districts has been mobilised and reached Para Chinar, Dera Ismail Khan and other areas to arrest these criminals, where, with the help of law enforcement agencies, more than 15 dangerous criminals have been arrested and moved to secret locations.

According to sources, the arrested include those belonging to banned organisations, and are perpetrators, supporters and masterminds. Sources say that criminals would often escape by wearing uniforms of officials. Some are also residing with influential people for which police have sought permission from high authorities to carry out secret operations.

Sources say that 7 criminals, including Munawar, Shakeel, Kashif Bhatti, Sultan Hamdani, Pervez, Jehangir Khan etc, have sought cover from Chotu Gang which has presence in the far corners of Lahore. For the arrest of Chotu Gang, DIG Sohail Tajik has been appointed Dera Ghazi Khan RPO, in place of the former RPO who has been asked to report before IG office for not arresting the Chotu Gang in a timely manner.

Police have said that help from law enforcement agencies has been sought to arrests these criminals and crackdowns will be carried out throughout Punjab.
