Renowned Pakistani host Amir Liaquat made headlines after he was detained at Yangon airport on Saturday in Myanmar. Liaquat had travelled to Myanmar to show support and help Rohingya Muslims who are currently facing severe oppression.
Reports confirmed that Liaquat had boarded Yangon-bound flight from Bangkok, Thailand along with Waqar Zaka – another TV anchorperson.
However, later Liaqat tweeted about immense difficulties that he faced at immigration upon reaching Yangon.

Yesterday in a tweet, Amir Liaquat confirmed that he had been detained by Myanmar authorities for nearly six hours.

Later, the two were deported back. Bol News on Sunday night confirmed that Amir Liaquat had returned to Pakistan safely.
According to media reports, the news channel also confirmed that Amir Liaquat was on an official visit to Myanmar to cover the atrocities faced by the Rohingya Muslims.
