President Asif Ali Zardari has decided not to give party ticket to former minister Raza Rabbani for the next Senate election as he has not only expressed differences with the party policy, but also parted ways with the government in difficult times. Sources in the PPP told Online that the position of the PPP deputy secretary general would also be taken back from Rabbani.
They said during a meeting, Zardari said whatever position, that of a senator or a minister, Rabbani held was due to the PPP. “He would have been an ordinary lawyer without the support of the PPP,” Zardari said. The sources also said the president had sent Rabbani a message that if he wanted to resign from the chairmanship of parliamentary committees, he should let the government know.
