Pakistan, Turkey relationship goes back in history: CM Shehbaz

LAHORE: Turkish Halal-e-Ahmar Vice President Ismail Hakki Turunc called on Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday.

The chief minister while congratulating the Turkish brethren on Eidul Azha said that Pakistan and Turkey are interconnected in historically important relations and Turkey has stood by Pakistani side at every moment of trial.

During the floods of 2010, we just cannot forget the way the Turkish general public helped the populace of the Punjab. It is good to note that Turkey has made accelerated developments under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He further said that the Turkish Halal-e-Ahmar is serving with a passion of public service and we want to enhance cooperation with it in the healthcare sector.

The chief minister said that he is desirous of setting up latest blood transfusion centre in the province; for which, resources will be provided by the Punjab government. Punjab government only needs the cooperation of Turkey in this regard, he added.

He said that the government of Punjab’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan Trust Hospital is providing best healthcare facilities to the people in Muzaffargarh district of the southern Punjab. He termed it as a living example of Pak-Turkish friendship and said that Punjab government is adding 250 beds to this hospital.

He said that Recep Tayyip Erdogan School is providing quality education to the girl-students in Muzaffargarh. He said that the Punjab government is also going to start motorbikes ambulance service during the current month and added that the sphere of public service will be further extended in partnership with Turkish Halal-e-Ahmar.

Ismail Hakki Turunc congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on Eidul Azha and expressed good wishes to the Sharif family.

The consul general of Turkey Serdar Deniz, Senior PML-N leader Khawaja Ahmad Hassan, secretary of Specialized Healthcare, DG Rescue 1122 and others were also present on the occasion.
