LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Siraj-ul-Haq has said that Pakistan was the result of unparalleled sacrifices offered by millions of Muslims in 1947.

In a statement issued on Friday regarding Eid-ul-Azha, Siraj congratulated the nation on the occasion and said that Allah’s pleasure was the actual asset of a believer as this guaranteed a respectable and dignified status for him/her in the world and in the hereafter.

However, the JI chief added that even after the passage of seventy years, Pakistan was deprived of a system based on the holy Quran and the Sunnah, for which it had been created.

He said the need of the hour was that the nation once again rose for liberation from the corrupt and dishonest rulers and elected ‘Sadiq and Ameen’ leadership that could honestly strive for the solution of the people’s problems.
