JI ameer asks NAB to stop business if it cannot punish corrupt people

Jamaat e Islami Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has counseled the NAB to stop its business if it could not punish the corrupt people.

Talking to different delegations at Mansoora on Wednesday, he said that NAB had a major role in the promotion of corruption. He wondered which law empowered NAB to free those plundering trillions after recovering only a few millions.

The JI chief said that in order to protect national assets, it was imperative that the appointment of the NAB be made by a committee headed by the chief justice of the Supreme Court and the chief justices of the four provinces and the chief justice of the Islamabad High Court.

Sirajul Haq further said that if the courts did not start dispensing justice, the democratic system could not be strengthened. The JI chief strongly condemned the statement of the French president linking Islam with terrorism and termed it an attempt to defame Islam. He said that the Muslim world was also against terrorism like the French president and the Muslims were the greatest sufferers of terrorism.

Sirajul Haq said that hundreds of cases of mega corruption were pending with NAB and it also had solid evidences against those plundering trillions of the nation and the country. However, these people were roaming about in the country freely.

He said that the ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his sons had not appeared before the NAB courts in three hearings which clearly indicated that the criminals had no fear of Allah or NAB. He said that had the fovourites of the criminals not been sitting in the NAB, the situation would have been different.

JI Information Secretary Amirul Azeem has said that the JI alone had the honour of rendering public services as was the duty of the governments.

He was speaking at a marriage gifts ceremony arranged by the JI women wing at Mansoora on Wednesday. He gave away marriage boxes to the deserving families on the occasion.

He said that with the help of the philanthropists, the JI has been running hospitals, dispensaries, educational institutions, ambulance service and had installed water filtering plants for the benefit of the general public. During natural calamities such as earthquake, floods, the JI was at the forefront in the rescue of the calamity hit people and these services were rendered on voluntary basis.

Amirul Azeem said that the JI also had the distinction of having no spot of corruption on its face. He said the need of the hour was that honest and competent people known for their integrity were returned to the assemblies so that the problems of the masses could be resolved.

He said the governments were receiving taxes of each and every item but were not providing any facility to the general public in return.
