Nawaz Sharif heads to London on Wednesday to see ailing wife

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif will leave for London on Wednesday to see his ailing wife Kulsoom Nawaz who has been diagnosed with throat cancer, his daughter Maryam Nawaz confirmed on Tuesday.
According to reports, doctors are waiting for the results of some important skin and other tests of Kulsoom Nawaz, and her chemotherapy will begin by the end of this week or the start of next.
Nawaz will reach London via flight EK-625 of a private airline, and is expected to stay there for 10 days. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will also conduct a rally in west London during his visit.

Kulsoom Nawaz was nominated as the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate for the by-election in Lahore’s NA-120 constituency. The seat had fallen vacant after her husband’s disqualification as prime minister by the Supreme Court in the Panama Papers case.

In her absence, her daughter Maryam Nawaz is running her election campaign and has been holding meetings in the constituency for formulating the election strategy. She formally began her mother’s election campaign on Tuesday after visiting the Data Darbar shrine and later inaugurating an election office of the party in Mozang.
