The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has acquired the tax return data of the last 20 years of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his family, and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Express News reported on Monday.

According to the TV channel, the data was handed to the graft watchdog by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). The channel also reported that NAB has also acquired the details of bank accounts of the Sharif family from the State Bank of Pakistan and their other records from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan.
After obtaining these records, NAB has started preparing its references against the Sharif family, the channel said.
A five-judge bench of the Supreme Court had disqualified Nawaz Sharif for concealing assets on July 28 and directed NAB to file references against him, his two sons, daughter, son-in-law, and the finance minister.
Sharif, his children and Dar have already filed separate review petitions against the July 28 verdict of the apex court in the Panamagate case. The channel claimed that after consulting their lawyers, Sharif, his children, son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar and Ishaq Dar have decided to approach the top court for protective bails.

  1. Given the fact they all failed to appear before NAB despite repeated summons, why on earth should the court grant protective bails to people who flout law and denegrade the court. They are better of in jail instead of being free on bail, they will not be able to make odious statement, comitt contempt of court and provoke people against the courts. Given thier dispicable behaviour, their is every legal, political and social reason for the court not to grant bail.
