7 killed, 9 injured in Gujranwala road accident

GUJRANWALA: At least seven people were killed and nine others injured, in a traffic accident on Gujranwala Road near Nokhar town on Monday. According to details, a passenger wagon, bounded from Gujranwala to Hafizabad, rammed into a dumper near Nokhar Mandi area.

As a result of the incident, seven persons were killed on the spot while nine were seriously injured. Children and women are also among the victims. Among the injured people, two are believed to be in very critical condition. Soon after the incident, rescue teams of 1122 reached the site and shifted the dead bodies and injured to nearby hospitals.

CM GRIEVES:

Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif has expressed a deep sense of sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives in the road accident. He has extended heartfelt sympathies to the members of the bereaved families. The chief minister has directed the administration to provide the best healthcare facilities to the injured. He has also sought a report about the incident.
