LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif has said that all-out resources are being utilised for the speedy progress of the province and prosperity of the people.
He said that mega projects have been completed in the province at a cost of billions of rupees, and each and every penny is being spent in a transparent manner on public welfare and for the provision of basic amenities for the masses.
The CM said that transparency, quality and speed are the identities of Punjab government and a hallmark of development projects. “A new example has been set in the history of the country by saving billions of rupees in development projects,” he added.
He said that all the development projects are being completed rapidly for the benefit of the people.
The CM expressed these views while talking to parliamentarians from various districts on Saturday. He said that merit is the only way to achieve speedy progress and prosperity and for this reason, the Punjab government has implemented the policy of transparency and merit in every sector.
According to the CM, recruitments in all the departments have been made purely on the basis of merit and many talented people have been given their due right. He added that revolutionary measures have been taken in health, education, agriculture and other sectors and for the first time in history, small farmers have been given interest-free loans which will benefit more than six lac of these farmers.
The chief minister also said that the ‘Kisaan Package’, worth billions of rupees, has laid the foundation of a revolution in agriculture and unprecedented measures have been taken for the prosperity of small farmers thus promoting the sector.
“Effective measures have been taken to eliminate heinous trade of spurious medicines, and state-of-the-art drug testing labs have been established in the province where qualified individuals have been recruited,” said Shehbaz.
He also said that billions of rupees are being spent every year for the provision of free medicines, and all the schemes in the health sector are being completed on a fast track basis. He said that ‘effective’ steps have been taken for eradication of hepatitis, and the scope of ‘Hepatitis Filter Clinics’ is being expanded to all the districts.
The CM said that his government is resolved to make Pakistan a country as envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal. He said that people were benefitting from the revolutionary public welfare programs launched by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government and resources of billions of rupees saved in development projects are being spent on public welfare.
