Bail granted to two MQM workers in media houses attack cases

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) granted a bail to two Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) workers in cases pertaining to listening to the incendiary speech of the MQM founder on August 22, 2016, and attacking media houses.

A Sindh High Court bench on Wednesday heard bail application of two accused, Muhammad Waleed and Shamim. The court granted bail to the accused against the furnishing of surety bonds of rupees one lac each.

Some 27 MQM leaders and workers, including Farooq Sattar, Amir Khan and others, have already been granted bail in the cases by the high court.

The cases were registered under multiple charges, including sedition and offences against the state at the Artillery Maidan police station.
