MULTAN: Anti-Corruption Establishment on Wednesday arrested an inspector of Excise and Taxation Department, Multan, for receiving a bribe.
Investigations Anti Corruption Establishment Assistant Director Adnan Asif Bhutta, under the supervision of Special Judicial Magistrate Zahoor Hussain, conducted a raid at Excise and Taxation Department. They arrested Sarfraz Ali Sheikh for taking a bribe and recovered Rs 20,000 from his possession.
The action has been taken on the application of Salman Yousaf, a resident of Garden Town, in which he alleged that the inspector had demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 for settlement in professional tax.
A case has been registered against the accused.
