LAHORE: Two independent candidates have filed their nomination papers for NA-120, Lahore-III by-elections, to be contested on September 17.
According to a spokesperson for the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Lahore office, the two independent candidates are Ghulam Muhammad Shabbir and Michael Haris.
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had won this seat with 91,683 votes, while Dr Yasmeen Rashid remained a runner-up with 52,354 votes in General Elections 2013.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has once again provided another opportunity to Dr Yasmeen Rashid.
It is pertinent to mention here that PPP and PML-N have not announced their candidates yet.
