Budget session of Badin District Council held

BADIN: A constitutional budget session of Badin District Council was held on Monday at the district council hall. Badin District Council Chairman Ali Asghar Halepoto presided over the constitutional budget session.

On the occasion, Badin Deputy Commissioner Shoukat Hussain Jokhio participated in the session as honorary.

The Badin District Council chairman presented the annual proposed budget 2017-2018 of Rs 668.856424.

The council chairman informed the session that total budget /revenue was proposed Rs 668.856 million, while expenditure estimates were Rs 661.513 million.

Ali Asghar Halepoto further informed the district members that Rs 362.008 million has been allocated for the capital development expenditure, while Rs.306.776 million for non-development expenditure.

He said that for making payments of district council employees an amount of Rs15.157 million have been reserved in the budget while Rs 230 million earmarked for the communication, water supply, drainage system, building, solar system, street lights, roads and bridges.

When 0.5 million was reserved for the scholarships to poor and deserving students and Rs 272.013 budget was reserved for total expenditures of the district council Badin. The annual budget, later on, was passed unanimously by the members of the Council.

On the occasion, Ali Asghar Halepoto said that many development works have been completed in the district with cooperation of the council members among health facilities, roads, water supply schemes would be given to union councils of the district, adding that no any new tax was introduced in the budget of the district council and was termed this as tax free budget.

On the occasion, Fida Hussain Mandhro, Haji Sain Bux Jamali, Abdul Ghafoor Nizamani, Zulfiqar Rahu, Shamshad Bhurgari, Khursheed Memon and others also addressed the session.
