Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has announced to format a permanent ‘Code of Conduct’ committee of the National Assembly to probe allegations levelled by MNA Ayesha Gulalai against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and other similar cases and would serve such kinds of cases in times to come..
The speaker has given the task of naming committee members to PML-N’s Sheikh Aftab and Opposition Leader Khursheed Shah. Aftab will nominate 13 members to the committee while Shah will nominate seven.
The committee will be given a time period of one month to complete its report and it will be an in-camera meeting.
Last week, the National Assembly passed a resolution calling for the formation of a committee to probe Gulalai’s allegations.
PML-N, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s parliamentarians had requested to form the committee.
