KARACHI: Police arrested a woman in Chanesar Goth area of the city for being involved in the sale of drugs to students of schools and colleges, a private media outlet reported.
According to reports, an investigation into the matter has revealed the 40-year-old woman, Kulsoom alias Bhabhi, has been in the business of drug peddling for the past 16 years.
The woman was reportedly also working as the front person for all the drug peddlers in Chanesar Goth — she would collect money from them and give it to policemen in Mehmoodabad and Tipu Sultan police stations. She gave money to the police as a bribe so she and others in the business stayed safe from being arrested.
The drug peddler was arrested during a joint search operation of the Rangers and police in Chanesar Goth Saturday night.
Around a month back, a lecturer of Islamic College, Peshawar was arrested on suspicion of selling drugs in the varsity.
