Indian movies

Since 2007 Indian movies production industry Bollywood is the leading movie maker in the world. But when we compare Hollywood with Bollywood, we see a many differences. In almost every Indian movie they involve their religion and culture. They keep using religion as one of the main themes in their movies.

Being Muslims we are not too comfortable with their projection of religion in this manner. Once Indra Gandhi said that they would destroy the culture of Pakistan with their media. And I think they are doing exactly the same thing. A recent example shows the way their culture has influenced us. My neighbour died last week. When his dead body was brought to his home, his grandson who is just seven years old, said that when “grandpa’s body would now be burned on woods and the pundit will say his mantars around the body”.

I was really shocked to hear that. A little child, who knows nothing yet about his school and what life is, knows many things about the Indian culture. Are we so distant from our own culture that we have left it for whatever happens to it? This is really a big question to every one. We must take action before it captures us. Indian movies and their TV channels must be banned in our country; otherwise the results would be disastrous.

  1. No only cinema – the whole of entertainment is a huge industry. India makes hundreds of movies every year and its studios are busy. Pakistan should learn from this. Films should be made regularly and in abundance – the stars should be busy. Cinema is an excellent way to get a point across.
