Kashf Foundation has strongly condemns the firing of Nobel Peace Prize laureate Prof Muhammad Younas from the post of the Grameen Bank managing director.
It said no one could ever deny Younas’ contribution as he questioned conventional economic wisdom and shook foundations of capitalism. Kashf Foundation claimed that he provided employment opportunities to 80 million poor families. Roshaneh Zafar of the Kashf Foundation said she had hoped that the people had learnt from the past and given all the focus of the last few decades on human rights, values and ethics, such acts were historical footnotes.
But it seemed all the talk about values was just a thin veneer.
