ISLAMABAD: Following reservation of verdict by the Supreme Court, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is heading an important meeting with the party leaders.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has also arrived in Islamabad to attend the meeting. Federal ministers and advisers are also attending the meeting. The legal team of the prime minister in the Panama Papers has also been summoned to the meeting taking place at the PM House.
The agenda of the meeting is to discuss the ongoing situation following the Supreme Court reservation of the verdict. As per sources, the legal team is briefing the prime minister on the Panama Papers case.
The three member bench hearing the Panama Papers case reserved its verdict today. It also observed that matters pertaining to the PM’s disqualification would be thoroughly examined and the apex court will maintain its decision under all circumstances.
During Friday’s court proceedings, the SC bench also directed that Volume X of the JIT report should be made accessible to PM’s legal counsel maintaining the transparency of the case.
