ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office on Wednesday called on the Indian Deputy High Commissioner to protest against Indian violations of the Line of Control (LoC).

The Director General (SA & SAARC) Dr Mohammad Faisal handed in a protest letter to Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh.

Indian forces engaged in unprovoked firing on the LoC on Sunday and targeted a Pakistan Army vehicle across the Line of Control (LoC), according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The vehicle was targeted at Athmaqam area across the LoC.

Four Pakistani soldiers were reportedly martyred in the incident when the vehicle plunged into Neelum River.

The Pakistan Army retaliated to the cross-border fire and gave a fitting response to the enemy, according to the ISPR statement.
