Despite having more than 2,000 sanitation workers, the heaps of garbage at sector G-9/1, G-6 and G-7 of the federal capital speaks volumes about the civic body’s ‘lethargic’ attitude.

Residents have urged Capital Development Authority (CDA) to take notice of the unhygienic conditions in their neighborhood and address the issue.

Talking to APP, the residents complained that garbage was being openly dumped at several places, which showed the civic body’s apathy and posed a huge risk of spreading diseases.

Farhan Mehmood, a resident of Sector G-9/1, said that the civic authority’s staffers were not addressing the unhygienic condition prevailing in the area. A resident of Sector G-7, Rakshanda Khan, demanded the CDA to make proper arrangements for disposal of waste in her sector.

When contacted, CDA’s sanitation department said that the authority had a schedule for each sector to pick up garbage dumped at designated bins.
