Our country is facing suicide attacks, bomb blasts and target killings. The world community is looking Pakistan as a home of terrorism. Therefore, no one is ready to invest here except China which has 13 billion dollars of foreign investment in our country. Even Romania and Philippines are getting a lot of foreign investments which are smallest countries. Tourists are also afraid to visit in Pakistan due to security reasons. It is only possible when we can create peace and stability in the country.
Our economy has lost more than Rs 2.1 trillion due to terrorism. Our economy has seen direct and indirect losses in terms of exports, foreign investment, industrial production, foreign tourism etc. Pakistan has also suffered losses of $68 billion due to Afghan refugees. Pakistan has sacrificed more than the NATO and USA put together have lost. All this when our country is facing economic crisis, political instability, and social conflict.
Terrorism in Pakistan is due to various inter-related problems such as poverty, lack of justice, political and economic injustice which create differences. We can fight against terrorism through good governing policies through which we can run the country smoothly without any disturbance and fear. We can also finish terrorism by eliminating poverty, lack of justice, political and economic injustices. Unemployment is also a cause of terrorism.
Pakistan’s tribal areas have become a focus of terrorism as their people are more in danger to extremism. Therefore, government needs to fight against terrorism. But billion of dollars are required for this fight. In this context, although America has promise to spend money for the development of Pakistan’s tribal areas, yet the same is not enough. Military is a main element to fight against terrorism. It must be supported.
