- Nisar condemns Quetta firing, orders incident report
Superintendent of Police (SP) Mubarak Shah among four policemen were martyred and his driver was injured by unidentified gunmen in a firing incident at Killi Deba area of the provincial capital on Thursday.
According to police, the senior police official along with a police team was patrolling near Killi Deba when armed assailants opened fire on them and fled from the scene. As a result, SP Mubarak among four police personnel were martyred on the spot.
Driver Ahmedullah sustained serious injuries in the firing. The bodies were rushed to civil hospital for legal formalities where three of the policemen were identified as Syed Fazal Rabi, Mudassar Ahmad and Muhamamd Irfan. Law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area and has started search for tracing out the suspects.
In a statement, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack on policemen. Minister for Interior Affairs Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan condemned the firing incident on police car in Quetta and sought report of the incident. He paid tribute to sacrifices rendered by the police.
He expressed condolence with families of the martyred police officers and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed souls in eternal peace. Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri and Minister for Home Affairs Sarfaraz Bugti also condemned the incident and directed police to apprehend the culprits involved in the assault.
