Ex-PPP Senator Babar Awan’s resignation has been accepted by Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani during a meeting in chairman’s chamber in Parliament House on Thursday (today).
Awan had handed in his resignation after he had made the announcement of joining Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, the previous month. Due to his unavailability, he had not been able to present himself in person to confirm his resignation earlier.
Moreover, Chairman Senate has forwarded Awan’s file to the Senate Secretariat following confirmation that Awan had resigned as per free will without any coercion. The announcement of Awan’s resignation will be made in the upcoming Senate session.
