A heavy downpour in Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Gujrat, Toba Tek Singh, DI Khan, Muzaffarabad and several other areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, caused severe land sliding in Muzaffarbad due to which water entered the buildings. A warning has been issued to the residents of the Neelum-Jhelum River.
In Gujrat, a girl’s body was recovered near Gullanwala village, whereas in DG Khan, a number of people were wounded in roof/wall collapse incidents. An emergency has been declared in public hospitals in the city.
In Karachi, a woman died and two others got injured in a roof collapse incident in Korangi No. 2 ½ locality.
The water level at Tarbela Dam was recorded at 1,485 feet on July 12; with the dam reaching its full capacity in another 65 feet due to torrential rains. Similarly, at Mangla Dam, the water level was recorded at 1,210 feet, with the dam reaching its full capacity in another 32 feet due to the same reason.
