CM Shehbaz inaugurates Haveli Bahadur Shah gas power plant

LAHORE: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated Haveli Bahadur Shah Gas Power Plant and inspected the project on Friday.

Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that despite opposition, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif took a brave decision to set up 3600-megawatt gas power plants two years ago.

Shehbaz Sharif expressed these views while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the first phase of a 760-megawatt unit of 1230-megawatt Haveli Bahadur Shah Power Plant.  He said this historic decision was taken in the best interest of the country and has proved as a guarantor of bright future of 200 million people of Pakistan, he added.

On one side, there is hue and cry about Panama while on the other side, there is solid work of the prime minister to bring the nation from darkness towards lights and the nation will always remember it, he added

The Panama fiction is worth four million dollars while as much as Rs 168 billion have been saved under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif in all the three projects of Bhikki, Haveli Bahadur Shah and Bhalloki Gas Power Plants.

He said there are no comparisons between the Panama story and the performance of Nawaz Sharif, adding that we respect the legal case of the apex court, and its every verdict is worth reverence.

On one side, there is a sincere leader who saved billions of rupees of this poor nation and on the other side, there are looters who plundered in the name of Neelam-Jhelum, Nandipur and rental power plants.

He said that we have to adopt the principles of honesty and hard work for speedy development.

The chief minister said he wants to say that all the rules in these projects were implemented completely, process of bidding was completed and foreign guests are also verifying the transparency in these projects.

Water and Power Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, vice president of the China Power Construction Company Wang Li, chief technology officer of the General Electric Company, John Lams, and Chief Executive Officer Rashid Mahmood Langryal also spoke on the occasion.
