Naundero: Vendors looted in Mahotta PS limits

NAUNDERO: Small vegetable and fruit vendors doing business on pushcarts were deprived of their entire daily earnings by four armed motorcyclists within the limits of Mahotta police station, on Wednesday morning.

They immediately reported the issue to the police as the incident had taken place near the police station but the police did nothing to chase the criminals or to tell their counterparts to seal the area so that looters should not escape.

Nazir Narejo, Mujahid Mirani, Safiullah Memon, Koral Narejo, Deedar Solangi, Sajan Mirani and others held a protest demonstration outside Benazir Bhutto Press Club, Naundero.

They alleged that they were regularly going to Larkana in the morning time on a Suzuki van to procure vegetables, fruit and return on the same vehicle.

They said that as usual they were going to Larkana and when we reached near Dodai village, four armed gangsters riding two bikes forced their van to stop.

They said that the gang deprived them of an amount of Rs 0.5 million, cellular phones, and had beaten two of the poor vendors, including Ahmed Ali Narejo and Inam Ali, who resisted the snatchingand fled on their bikes. It took them approximately 20 minutes but cops did not appear despite the fact that they were very near.

They said that they went to the nearby Mahotta police station immediately to lodge a report and requested the policemen not to waste time as they could catch them in a chase but police only kept us on empty promises and did nothing to arrest the accused.

They demanded of IGP AD Khawaja, DIGP Larkana Abdullah Shaikh and SSP Umar Tufail to help them recover the looted amount and phones so that they may be able to earn a livelihood for their poor families.
