The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday allowed all unsuccessful MBBS students to appear in the supplementary examinations and directed the University of Health Sciences (UHS) to entertain their forms with regular fee.
Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed also linked the declaration of their result with the final decision on a petition filed by 91 students who were earlier allowed by the court to sit in the annual examinations but their result had not been announced.
Petitioners, including Sadia Waheed, and others submitted that their result might be declared so that the possibility of their taking the supplementary examinations could be considered. UHS’ counsel Rassal Hassan Syed said that result of the petitioners was available in a sealed envelope, which he opened in the court. According to the result, some petitioners had failed.
The counsel said that the failed petitioners were entitled to sit in the supplementary examinations but the last date for filing forms was May 9. He said that their forms could be entertained until May 16 with double fee. But the judge directed the counsel to ensure submission of petitioners’ forms with regular fee treating their case under special circumstances.
Justice Saeed adjourned the case’s hearing until June 8.
