SHIKARPUR: Alteast thirteen people, including women and children who were killed as a result of  an armed clash between two groups of Jatoi tribe in Shikarpur the other day, will be buried in their native towns today.

Included among the deceased were an eight-year-old girl and two women while several women and children were injured too. The deceased and wounded were later shifted to Civil Hospital.

The deadly clash took place in Khanpur near Faizu Bangla Police Station in Shikarpur. The remote site prevented the police authorities from reaching the site promptly to control the situation.

A case is yet to be registered although the Sindh chief minister has taken ‘notice’ of the incident and also sought a report from DIG Larkana.

As per the police authorities, the clash was a result of a long-standing land dispute between the two groups, which has already claimed six lives in the past five years.
