PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government is giving top priority to the education sector as a huge amount is allocated for this sector in the budget.
Over the past four years, the provincial government has spent a substantial amount of time, money and manpower to revamp, renovate and rejuvenate a stagnant and sluggish education system.
The government has taken many measures for the sector’s revival, including the provision of scholarships, IT labs and sports equipment, improving teacher attendance through IMU, infrastructure provision through the ‘better schools initiative’ and enrollment drives targeting areas with low education rate and focusing on putting girls in school, education rate in the province is improving. Each subsequent report confirms improved enrollment rates, increased teacher attendances and a subsequent shift from private to public schools (151,000 students so far) which is pointing to a bright future for education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
