ISLAMABAD: Tariq Shafi, is appearing before the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) on Sunday (today). It is pertinent to mention that Shafi has already appeared before the team.
Sources are reported to have stated that the JIT has prepared questions that are being put forth to Shafi.
During the previous hearing of the Panama Papers case, Shafi had presented to the team, an affidavit stating that he was part of all transactions that involved sale of the Mian Sharif’s dubai properties and subsequent transfer of funds to Qatar. It is expected that Shafi will also be probed with regards to the Hudaibiya Paper Mills Limited.
Earlier, Shafi claimed that the investigators misbehaved with him during the session.
Moreover, the prime minister’s son Hasan Nawaz has been summoned by the investigation team on July 3 and his elder brother Hussain Nawaz will appear before the JIT on July 4. Maryam Nawaz is scheduled to appear before the team on July 5.
The summons also asked the respondents to bring forth relevant documents related to the Sharif family’s financial assets.
