ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Thursday summoned the acting Deputy High Commissioner of India S Raguram and lodged protest over a recent cross-border violation by Indian forces.
A man was killed and three others, including a woman, injured in the Nakyal sector of Azad Jammu and Kashmir on June 28 after Indian border forces opened indiscriminate firing across the Line of Control (LoC).
The deceased was identified as 22-year-old Abdul Wahab.
Army said the Pakistani troops gave a ‘befitting’ response to the Indian shelling.
The charge-sheet to the Indian diplomat, who serves as the first secretary in the high commission’s political wing, was presented by the ministry’s South Asia desk head.
In the charge-sheet, the Indian government was strongly urged to halt the continuous cross-border firing and adhere to the 2003 ceasefire agreement across the LoC between the two countries.
Ceasefire, you people violate ceasefire every now and then to facilitate the entry of terrorists into India. Instead of requesting india to honour the 2003 ceasefire, it would be better if you stop doing cowardly acts. As was said by our Home Minister, you will get 10 bullets in reply to each bullet fired by you on LOC. Don’t worry, NAG is also there to destroy your bunkers. We are not barbaric as you are to decapitate the dead bodies of a soldiers. We will always give a pertinent reply to your acts.
